Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino believed his side deserved more after snatching a late equaliser in the FA Cup.

A late Harry Kane penalty salvaged the third round FA Cup tie against Leicester City who came from behind to almost knockout the lilywhites for a second successive year.

The ball struck Nathan Dyer on the hand inside the box but Leicester players contested it was accidental.

“I did not see it from my position,” the Spurs boss admitted.

“But sometimes in football you get the decision for you and then against you.”

Spurs will now play Leicester on January 19 in a replay but will also face up against the Foxes in three days time.

Pochettino said: “We are happy in the end to get the draw and stay alive in the competition but if you analyse the first 45 minutes we dominated the game like Everton.”

Spurs took the lead after eight minutes when Christian Eriksen slotted home the rebound of Nacer Chadli’s shot.

Marcin Wasilewski bulleted a header in to level before Shinji Okazaki gave Claudio Ranieri’s side the lead, which they lost two minutes before the end.

The Spurs boss added: “The performance was good and we deserve more in the end. When we conceded in the second half, then Leicester sit very deep.”

On the packed schedule of January, the Spurs manager admitted it will be “tough” but he has “a strong squad” to manage three competitions.

He added: “Everyone believes and can fight for their place in the team. It is tough but we need to be strong.”

Spurs now face Leicester on Wednesday before playing Sunderland next Saturday.
