A woman who played music so loud her neighbours couldn’t hear each other speak has been fined.

Rosalind Connell had been driving her neighbours in Scotswood Walk, near Northumberland Park, Tottenham, to despair with loud music played at all hours of the day and night.

According to Haringey Council, people who lived nearby told officers that music was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation in their kitchen, and it was too noisy to spend any time in the garden.

They said Ms Connell would play her music until as late as 3am.

Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Stuart McNamara said: “We hope this case is a warning to anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to show a blatant disregard for other people in their neighbourhood – it certainly is not.

“Our residents are entitled to enjoy peace and quiet in their own homes and anyone who stops that from happening will face tough action.”

Ms Connell was fined £440 and ordered to pay costs of £1,193 as well as a victim surcharge of £40 at Tottenham Magistrates Court (pictured).
