TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino said he can feel the belief in his side that they can win the league after their narrow win against Watford.

The lilywhites edged past Watford with a comfortable display at White Hart Lane and thanks to Kieran Trippier’s first Spurs goal.

The Spurs manager was delighted with his team’s performance and said he was “very satisfied” with the result.

He added: “You can see we dominate the game completely. It is only 1-0 but we deserved to score more.”

Dele Alli started on the bench for Spurs but had a dramatic effect on the match, setting up Trippier for the only goal of the game.

Speaking of his young starlet, Pochettino said: “He is a very good player, it was difficult for him because he felt bad at Norwich.

“We take a decision to look after him because he’s very young an that was to start on the bench – he made a real impact when he came on the pitch.”

Spurs have now won four Premier League matches in a row – a run that has taken them to second in the table, above Man City and Arsenal.

Pochettino was coy on speaking about the title but admitted he has “belief” in his players.

He said: “You know the gap we have is five points – we are in a very good position and not do not think too much about the future.

“Historically, Spurs is a big club in England and I think it is not a surprise we are in this position.”

The Tottenham manager revealed he has not spoken too much about the title to his players but said he can see the belief in their eyes.

“I believe in my players and my squad and we will see.

“I think this is not a subject to speak between us – you can see in their eyes that they believe but better not speak too much.”
