NEIGHBOURS were left furious when “ugly” plans to build a third storey on a block of flats were given planning permission last night.

People in Park Road, Crouch End, tried to fight the proposals at a planning meeting at the civic offices, in Wood Green, last night.

The Bryanstone Residents’ Association attended the meeting and argued it would have “no architectural” merit.

They fear the glazed windows on the back of the building would infringe on people’s privacy.

Complaints raised at the meeting include the way plans presented were “misleading” because they do not give an accurate measurement of what the building would look like.

But while the developers said their plans are not 100 per cent correct, they denied claims they were misleading.

Labour councillor, Natan Doron, also opposed the proposed extension.

During the discussion, he said: “I do not accept the privacy issues have been overcome since the last rejection and there is nothing to stop those buildings being replaced.

“I agree that it will be a box on top of a monstrosity.”
