A TEENAGER who was caught driving erratically was found with a shotgun and drugs.

The 17-year-old, who failed to stop, was later arrested on suspicion of stealing the green Vauxhall and driving without a licence or insurance on Friday (April 15) at 9.30pm.

After he failed to stop, a number of police cars followed him and halted the car in Twyford Avenue, Muswell Hill.

The passenger fled, but sniffer dogs and a helicopter found him hiding in a garden.

A bag the 25-year-old was carrying was found containing a sawn-off shotgun, cash and what is believed to be Class A drugs.

The driver was also arrested suspicion of possession of a firearm and Class A drugs, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.

The 25-year-old passenger was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of Class A drugs and being driven in a stolen car.

Police say they were both taken to a west London police station where they remain in custody, and enquiries continue.
