Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a hit-and-run collision, which left a young woman hospitalised.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to Thornham Grove, E15, on Saturday (August 20) at around 3.39am, following a report of a car in collision with a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with the ambulance crews and found the pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman injured at the location.

The woman was taken to an east London hospital where she remains. Her injuries are not being treated as life threatening.

A vehicle was found nearby and a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and attempted murder.

He was taken into custody at an east London police station where he remains.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether this vehicle was involved in the collision.
