TRAFFIC came to a standstill last night as drivers saw a car burst into flames in front of them.
Police officers were called to a car crash on the A12 in Leyton at 7.42pm yesterday (August 30).

The car is believed to have crashed into the central reservation before bursting into flames near Colville Road, opposite Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
A Met Police spokesman said a man was taken to hospital with a suspected leg injury and the crash was being treated as a personal injury collision.

The London Ambulance Service thanked drivers on social media afterwards for allowing them to reach the injured man.
The A12 was closed for around an hour while the fire brigade, police and ambulance service cleared the scene.
