Tottenham Hotspur have made a deadline day swoop for Newcastle United’s midfielder Moussa Sissoko, reports say.
Various national media outlets are claiming the White Hart Lane club have offered in the region of £16m for the French international.
That bid is someway short of the Magpies £30m valuation of the 27-year-old but Spurs are hoping to strike a deal for Sissoko before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Sissoko has been agitating for a move since impressing during France’s run to the final of Euro 2016 where they lost to Portugal.
He is reported to have left the France squad in attempt to push through a move away from St James Park.
Spurs are also expected to complete the signings of winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and goalkeeper Pau Lopez today.
