More than a hundred badges with the words "Tube Chat?" were handed out yesterday but they were met by confused Londoners, wondering why you’d ever want to speak to someone on the tube.

Londoners called the idea "monstrous" and even branded the badges "weirdo magnet".

But if you’re one of those people that are now worried you’ll no longer be able to stalk your mates on Facebook in peace, fear not.

Because these badges have got your back.

The group behind them say they produced the Shut Up badges for those passengers who have no desire to talk to strangers.

Leaflets handed out at Liverpool Street station this morning read: "Want nothing less than a chat with one of your fellow passengers?

"Wear this badge to let them know that you’d rather drink a pint of bleach than talk with them. Start using it today."

In response to the mass criticism, all "Tube chat?" badges creator Jonathon Dunne said was "Haters gonna hate."
