Fundraisers are making waves 2017 Swimathon fora cancer charity returns for 30th year.
Swimmers are being challenged to pool their efforts and cover 1.5k or 5k as part of a team or take the plunge and swim them alone for Marie Cure Cancer Care.
Albany Leisure Centre and Southbury Leisure Centre, both in Enfield, are taking part.
The current event will run the length of April 7-9 as participantswill raise money for the leading charity supporting people and families dealing with a terminal illness.
Marie Curie community fundraiser, Sophie Barber says: “We’re looking for swimmers to help make this the biggest and best Swimathon yet.
“In 2015, 22,600 swimmers took part across the UK and helped raise a brilliant £1.9 million for Marie Curie.
“That is a fantastic achievement but one we are hoping to beat this year with the support of anyone in the area.”
