Dele Alli will discover the length of his European ban on Thursday, March 23.
The influential Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was sent off for a shocking knee-high tackle on Gent’s Brecht Dejaegere as Spurs crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday.
Alli had been set to discover the length of his ban this week, but Spurs’ lack of European involvement for the remainder of the season means there is little rush to make a decision.
The date is also significant as the White Hart Lane club will discover whether they will be allowed to play all their home matches in front of a capacity Wembley crowd next season.
Brent Council’s planning committee will consider whether Spurs can use the national stadium’s full 90,000 capacity.
If Tottenham’s application is refused they will be limited to selling 51,000 seats for some of their home matches.
