YOUNG people looking for work have been given a boost with the launch of a new scheme.

The Tottenham Hotspur Elevator Programme gives training and work experience opportunities with the possibility of leading to employment.

It is aimed at people between the ages of 18 and 24, and is the result of a partnership between the Club’s Foundation and William Hill the bookmakers.

Bill South, group director of security and community affairs at William Hill, said: “We are proud to be launching the Elevator Programme with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, which will continue our company commitment to providing skills and employment opportunities to individuals in our local communities.”

The programme sees the Club continue in its cause to give young people the skills they need for a brighter future.

It is possible because of a £100,000 grant William Hill provided as part of their, Close to Home community commitment.

Those who take part will have the chance to take gain qualifications in Customer Service and Business Administration, as well as apprenticeships with the bookmakers.

On going 1-2-1 mentoring assistance is also available.

Grant Cornwell MBE, CEO of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “The Club is committed to driving employment within its local community and we are delighted to be adding the Elevator Programme to our wide range of projects with the support of William Hill.”
