Election Day is finally here. It's going to be a busy day for a lot us, but here's all you need to know to get you through the morning commute.


It’s going to be a cloudy day in east London, with dark skies for most of the day and possible rain. Temperature highs of 18 degrees around 4pm.


There is a good service on all London Underground lines.

On London Overground there is no service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace and minor delays between New Cross Gate and West Croydon due to a fault with the track at Forest Hill.


The A406 North Circular is closed northbound and queuing traffic for two miles because of a fuel spillage and broken down lorry between the A118 Ilford Hill and the A12 Eastern Avenue (Redbridge Roundabout). There is congestion on the A406 to the A1020 Royal Docks Road / A13 Alfred's Way (East Ham And Barking By-pass) Beckton Roundabout. The main carriageway was closed on the Ilford flyover from around 3am this morning and has now been extended up to Redbridge Roundabout from 6:30am. Recovery vehicles and police are currently on scene.

The A1199 Hollybush Hill is still closed between New Wanstead and Wanstead High Street.

There’s slow traffic on the A13 from Dagenham to Canning Town after the fuel spill at Ilford.

Expect queueing traffic on the A116 Aldersbrook Road Westbound between Wanstead Park Avenue and the A114 Centre Road. Traffic is trying to avoid problems on the A406.

One lane closed due to water main work on the A118 Romford Road Westbound after the A406 North Circular Road. Lane one (Of three) is closed. Until June 13.

There are roadworks and temporary traffic lights on the A1168 Chigwell Lane around Oakwood Hill. Until August 23.

Traffic is slow on the M11 between Loughton and South Woodford.

Expect queues on the A12 between Gants Hill and Redbridge.
