A child was taken to hospital after being hit by a car while out trick-or-treating.
The boy was injured on Halloween evening (Tuesday, October 31) during an incident in Elmcroft Avenue, Wanstead.
Paramedics were called to the scene after reports of a traffic collision in the road at around 6.45pm.
Witnesses say they saw a child, believed to be a boy, wearing fancy dress laying on the street hurt.
The child received emergency attention on the roadside for head injuries and was later taken to hospital for further treatment.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Elmcroft Avenue.
“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a patient at the scene for a head injury and took them as a priority to a hospital.”
Elmcroft Avenue was blocked while the boy received treatment, causing tailbacks as far as the Nightingale pub on Nightingale Lane.
