Students interested in car maintenance as a careers went to an open day hosted at an accident repair business where they could speak with employees about learning the skills of the trade.

Spraytech Enfield, on Alma Road, welcomed students, parents and teachers to their workshop on Saturday December 9.

Employees spoke with the visitors about the guaranteed apprenticeship places at its bodyshop the company offers every year.

Vehicle repair charity AutoRaise supported Spraytech Enfield, in this, which was one of a series of showcase events nationwide.

AutoRaise aim to attract young people to the automotive industry.

Harry Charles, managing director of Spraytech Group, said: “Spraytech is an ambitious and growing business so we are proud to be holding the biggest event yet with AutoRaise.

“We are planning to bring 300 to 400 young adults to Spraytech on Saturday December 9 and have extended the invitation to young offenders, to show the opportunities for apprenticeships in our industry.

“The Mayor of Enfield will be present, accompanied by my father’s sister who has an OBE.

“Many work providers will be present and LKQ Coatings is supporting us.

“It’s going to be a busy day; we have loads of demonstrations running on-site during the morning and afternoon sessions and our local boxing club, Edmonton Eagles, will be demonstrating some boxing skills.

“There will be a BBQ and also drinks, and we’re pleased to announce that Hellenic TV will also be attending on the day.”

A Sheilas’ Wheels Pink Cadillac, a luxury Rolls Royce and other Supercars were on display for people to have a look at while they were there.
