This year Enfield Golf Club celebrates 125 years with a programme of events soon to be announced.

The family friendly club, which can be found at the 18 hole parkland course and clubhouse in Old Park Road South, was founded all the way back in 1893. It was one of the first 500 in the UK. There were six original founding members and subscription was two guineas.

Club manager, Des Cassidy, says: “Here at Enfield Golf Club, we pride ourselves on being a friendly Club, with a great atmosphere. We’re so proud to be celebrating our 125th anniversary , so here’s to golf in the community for the next 125 years and beyond!”

Tottenham Independent:

The club was designed by former Open Champion, James Braid, the course measures 6,174 yards, par 72 for men and 5407, par 72 for ladies. It is a good test for all levels of Golfer.

Club captain, Alan Blake, adds: “We are very proud to be celebrating this very special year for the Club. There are many excellent events and competitions planned and we hope that our new 125th Anniversary Membership will allow as many people as possible to come along to the Club, join in and take part. We offer a warm welcome to all and hope that this will be another great year in the Club’s history.”

The Club events include a Cockney Knees Up on April 20, Past Captains’ Golf and Dinner on May 18 and a Ladies Open on June 28.

There will also be a Festival of Golf Week between July 7 and 14, which will include anniversary competitions.
