A manager of a builder’s merchant warehouse is hoping to complete the London Marathon in under five hours.
Ross Sandy, from Gillingham, who works at Selco Builders Warehouse, in Enfield, is aiming to raise £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Research on Sunday, April 22.
Selco has already raised more than £500,000 for the charity over the last four years.
The 40-year-old said: “The London Marathon is iconic and something I’ve always wanted to do.
“I’ve done a number of cycling events for Macmillan but this is certainly the biggest running challenge I’ve ever taken on.
“I know I will be in pain on the way around the course but I couldn’t be running for a better cause.
“It is a daunting prospect to run more than 26 miles but I’ve done a good number of half marathons in the build-up and I’m looking forward to it.”
