There's no doubt that buying property in London is not cheap.

Figures from property site Zoopla show that the average cost of a first-time home in London is £425K, seeing an average deposit of £144,500.

London is the most expensive area in the UK to buy property, with the UK's average first-time buyer price set at £240K with a deposit of £34,500.

Taking this into account, we wanted to see just how much you can get for £425K can get you across South East London, comparing properties on Zoopla in Greenwich, Bromley and Bexley.

Starting in Greenwich, you can bag a very nice studio for exactly £425K set on the Greenwich Peninsula.

Coming in at 458 sqft, the studio has an "oversized private terrace" with views of Landscaped gardens.

Sold by Roman and Partners, the studio is listed on Zoopla as offering a "well-lit open-plan kitchen and living space complete with built-in storage, seamlessly leading to a private balcony"

Moving onto Bromley, you can get an entire two-bed detached bungalow with a private garden for £425K.

Tucked away from the Orpington town centre, it has two double bedrooms, a living room and a fitted kitchen/dining room.

As well as a bathroom, utility room, private rear garden, garage and potential for a parking space to the rear.

There is even room to extend the property with planning permission already being submitted for a single-storey rear extension with the addition of a roof light.
