A FEISTY songstress from Tottenham is tuning up for X Factor success as one third of edgy girl group Miss Frank.

Hip Hop musician Graziella Affinita, of White Hart Lane, teamed up with Shaniece Davis, 21, and Shar Alexandra, 25, to form Miss Frank at the judges' suggestion after the three soul singers failed to make it as solo acts.

Their spine-tingling performance of Rose Royce classic Wishing On A Star spiced up with a freestlye rap from Graziella booked Miss Frank a flight to Lake Como, in Italy, where they blew mentor Louis Walsh and Ronan Keating away with a reworked version of Aretha Franklin hit Respect.

The location could not have been better suited to Graziella, born to an Italian father and Filipino mother, who was inspired to get back to her roots by breaking into Italian to perform another freestyle.

The group's unique performance helped to convince Walsh to put Miss Frank in his final three while lavishing praise on the "raw talent".

And the praise just seems to keep on coming for Miss Frank. Cheryl Cole called them her favourite group, and fellow judge Dannii Minogue credited the band with giving pop guru Louis Walsh the "cool factor" after they wowed the panel with a soulful rendition of Smokey Robinson's Motown classic Who's Loving You? at Saturday's live show.

Graziella said: "It is still sinking in that we're in the final so we're just taking it one day at a time. It is hard work and quite full-on but life still goes on. Even though I'm living in the X Factor house I still have to pop down to the shops or to the bank to pay bills in between rehearsals. We're not stars yet."

Earlier in the competition, the trio were criticised for not having enough chemistry having but Graziella said the band was getting closer every day and were now even sharing the same room.

She said: "I started as a solo artist but now I'm in a group. I believe it was fate that we came together. This is what was meant to be. I have no problem speaking my mind and if this wasn't what I wanted I wouldn't be here. As a solo act I had my family and friends behind me but now I have two other girls standing with me and, collectively, we have huge support.

"People have said stuff about us getting thrown together but the truth is we very much come from the same place in terms of the music that we love and the passion we give to our performance. X Factor might get criticised for producing generic acts but when you get on the stage it's up to you to get yourself across in the performance and that's what Miss Frank is all about. We've got our own swagger."

The assistant bar manager and student started singing aged six in church choirs and teamed up with underground hip hop act Foreign Beggars who have toured across Europe and Asia, opened for Amy Winehouse and even performed at Glastonbury.

Graziella said she was shocked to receive a letter inviting her to the auditions that her cousin had filled out secretly on her behalf but she decided to give it a go.

The bubbly singer said: "I never would have applied for the X Factor. I'm just 'That Girl' from Tottenham. I was a rascal. I was that annoying person at the back of the bus listening to music out loud and singing. In fact, I spent a lot of my youth rebelling against what people told me to do. But I rebelled through music.

"I am proud to represent Tottenham. It would be amazing to win and I think it would show people that someone like me can be on prime time tv. I never thought I would have this opportunity.

"It is a good message for the younger generation to know that you don't need to come from a fancy house, or be middle class, to have a dream. If you have a dream, and work hard for it, you will blossom and flourish."

Tune it to ITV1 at 8pm this Saturday to watch Miss Frank take to the stage for the second time
