Books of condolence have been placed around the borough for residents to write messages following Thursday's terror attacks in London.

Enfield has been hard-hit by the tragedy, with at least two confirmed fatalities in the borough. H undreds of people are expected to leave messages in books in the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Community House in Fore Street, Edmonton, and the libraries in Palmers Green and Edmonton.

People can also make a donation to the London Bombings Relief Fund through cashiers at the Civic Centre.

Cllr Michael Rye, leader of the council, said: "Following last week's atrocity in central London, it is clear that the community has been affected and our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at this very sad time.

"I would also like to express my gratitude to the emergency services and council staff for their magnificent response.

"As long as Enfield's community stands together, we will never be beaten by terrorism."
