Tottenham face their bogey team Chelsea tomorrow in a mouthwatering top-of-the-table clash.

After an excellent start to the season for both sides, with Chelsea top and Spurs second, all eyes will be on White Hart Lane at 3pm on Saturday.

The potential return of former sporting director Frank Arnesen, who was embroiled in a multi-million pound battle between the two clubs after deciding to defect to Stamford Bridge this summer, gives added bite to what is always a fiercely-fought fixture.

Meanwhile, following the sale of Fredi Kanout earlier this month, manager Martin Jol still harbours hopes of signing a fourth striker a move for Liverpool forward Djibril Cisse was mooted this week, depending on the final destination of Michael Owen, but Jol is still thought to favour a move for Feyenoord's Dirk Kuyt.

But Jol will be boosted by the team's battling performance on Wednesday night which earned his side a, perhaps fortunate, point with a 0-0 draw at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers.

He rested Michael Carrick, Edgar Davids and Jermain Defoe, and said: "It's not pleasing but satisfying after the way we played.

"But we need to get home and improve as we have a big game against Chelsea coming up this weekend."

And Tottenham will be hoping to overcome the hoodoo that has seen the Lilywhites fail to beat Chelsea in the league for more than 15 years, to go into the two-week international break in the Premiership's top two.
