Police await post-mortem of pensioner fire victim
POLICE are investigating a fire at a Tottenham house in which a pensioner was killed.
The elderly victim, in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene in Hillside Road, south Tottenham.
A post-mortem is yet to be scheduled after which police will release his identity.
Fire crews from across north London raced to the house after receiving emergency calls on Monday and found the building already bathed in flames.
They spent nearly an hour trying to bring the blaze under control.
It damaged half of the ground floor of the two-storey building.
