MEXICAN Giovani Dos Santos will be sold “for the right price” during the January transfer window, Spurs manager has said.

Dos Santos scored one and played a major part in two others as Tottenham beat Cheltenham this afternoon in the FA Cup third round.

But the attacking midfielder looks to be heading for the White Hart Lane exit this month after struggling to cement a place for himself in the first team.

Redknapp said: “He needs to play, needs to be fit, and train hard. When he does that, he gets a chance, but I think he is looking to move, to be honest.

“It's been hard for him, he's got talent and ability but he has to work harder in training and get fitter.

“He had a real opportunity to play here, he's a very good player, but it's always difficult when you have got players like Bale and Lennon ahead of you.”

Redknapp said Dos Santos turned down a big money move last summer to Italy, and is looking to return to Spain after leaving Barcelona to move to Tottenham.

But he warned potential suitors Spurs would only do a deal if they “get the right offer” for the Mexican international.

Dos Santos was among a host of Tottenham's second string given a chance in today's tie, and Redknapp praised the work of Niko Kranjcar who pulled the strings in midfield.

Captain Michael Dawson made a return after a five month layoff, and Aaron Lennon also returned from injury.

Redknapp refused to be drawn on potential transfer targets, but said chairman Daniel Levy is always on the lookout for new signings.

He said: “I'm not fussed really, but Daniel enjoys the transfer window. He's a fantastic negotiator and he likes to pull off a good deal.

“I'm sure he would be only too pleased to try to do something.”

The Spurs manager said he is only looking for a player to improve his high-achieving squad, and insisted none of his stars will be moving on during this transfer window.
