Volunteers have been restoring hidden paths along a historic railway line this summer to help encourage children to learn about nature.
The Green Gym Haringey volunteers have been working on the path for the last four weeks cutting back plants and opening up steps to a St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, in Wood Green.
The line used to link up Noel Park and Wood Green to Alexandra Palace, and an old bridge which crossed Park Avenue is still visible to the public.
Headteacher of the school Peter Keane said: “The Conservation Volunteers have done an amazing job, the teachers are really enthusiastic about getting their pupils engaged with the space after the summer holidays.”
The Green Gym meets every Thursday in parks around the borough and is free for anyone to join.
