An MP says many HIV and AIDS sufferers are still not receiving the help they need.
Hornsey and Wood Green MP Lynne Featherstone visited the Winkfield Resource Centre in Winkfield Road in Wood Green, which helps people with activities including a weekly drop-in centre, psychological support and housing advice.
She also met the director of the UK AIDS Consortium, Ben Simms, a trustee of the consortium and four women representing organisations which work to support people with HIV and AIDS.
The Liberal Democrat MP said: “This is an issue I feel very strongly about. Unlike the early days, it is now possible to live with HIV and AIDS - yet there are still so many people who aren’t receiving the necessary help.
“In my ministerial capacity at the Department of International Development, HIV and AIDS issues are in my remit.
"It was therefore doubly interesting to visit the Winkfield Centre in my constituency to discuss the issues affecting people with HIV and AIDS.”
