A TOTTENHAM gang leader involved in drugs, violent crime, and anti-social behaviour has been banned from large parts of the borough.

Kemal Eren, 24, has been hit with the wide-ranging Asbo after magistrates heard evidence of crime and disorder around flats and busy public areas across Tottenham.

Eren himself has been linked to possession of cannabis, public disorder, and attempted arson, police officers told Haringey Magistrates Court on Monday, December 13.

He has been banned from associating with 17 named people, from threatening or intimidating people, and from entering a desginated area of Tottenham.

Eren can also be told to leave any premise in Haringey, or face being in breach of the Asbo, and is banned from all of the borough's William Hill bookies.

Superintendent Chris Barclay, Acting Borough Commander for Haringey, welcomed the order and warned he will seek similar measures against other members of Eren's gang.

He said: "I am determined to keep up the pressure on anyone who is involved in any gang activity in Haringey.

"I am extremely pleased to have these powers agreed by the court under the Anti Social Behaviour Order to continue to apply that pressure to keep the residents of Haringey safe from crime and anti-social behaviour.

"I have tasked my team to look closely at other gang members in order to deal with them in the same way."
