London Skolars have strengthened their squad for next season after signing former London Broncos Super League player Lamont Bryan.

Bryan is no stranger to New River having made a significant contribution to Skolars’ 2012 campaign when he made 18 appearances whilst on dual registration, scoring eight tries.

He has made 31 appearances for Skolars, scoring 44 points.

Bryan signed to play for Featherstone Rovers in the Championship last year where he made 24 appearances scoring six tries.

Despite a lot of interest in his signature Bryan has decided to return to the capital and play for Skolars.

Head coach Joe Mbu said: “Lamont is a another key signing for the club. He is familiar with the set up here and knows most of the lads really well from his time here and at Broncos.

“The squad is taking shape nicely and Lamont is another quality addition who the supporters really appreciated when he played here in 2012.”

Bryan, who has made a number of international appearances for Jamaica, is scheduled to feature for Skolars in the forthcoming Capital Challenge match at the HAC against a Wigan Warriors XIII on January 24.

General manager Howard Kramer said: “Ticket sales are already over 50 per cent up on last year’s Capital Challenge match and the pre-match luncheon, featuring Martin Offiah and Jamie Peacock as speakers, has also outsold previous years.

“The news that Lamont Bryan has signed for the club should make the match even more of a must see for Rugby League fans in London.”
