Haringey Borough clinched their third consecutive win after beating Hullbridge Sports 3-1 in the Essex Premier League on Tuesday night.

The hosts opened the scoring through a fierce strike from Steve Obeng after just four minutes.

Haringey extended their lead before the break when Daniel Aristidou finished off a cross from Anthony McDonald at the far post.

Boro killed off the contest ten minutes into the second half when Obeng smashed in his second of the match.

The visitors pulled one back but Haringey still ran out comfortable winners.

Boro’s decision to switch their game with Ilford to their opponent’s ground paid off as they won 3-2 on Saturday. The relocation was decided to ensure the match could take place and a late winner helped the ‘visitors’ to the points.

McDonald grabbed the opening goal in the 24th minute with a powerful 15-yard strike just inside the right-hand post.

Ilford were struggling to find any end product to their build-up play and the side fell further behind in the second half.

Their defence struggled to clear the ball and Dewayne Clarke pounced to slam the ball into the net from close range. Ilford were handed a fortunate lifeline after 64 minutes when Boro keeper Ashley Harris somehow managed to let a soft shot from Musa Mennah past him and into the net.

This goal visibly lifted them and helped them find an equaliser in the 76th minute.

There was a goalmouth scramble and Aaron Harriott got the crucial touch to make it 2-2.

Both sides pushed for a winner but Haringey grabbed the decisive fifth goal ten minutes from the end. Boro put together an excellent move and McDonald was on hand to drive the ball home.

Haringey’s next league match is a trip to Southend Manor this weekend.
