James Windsor claimed the vacant Queensbury Boxing League Light Heavyweight title on Saturday night after seeing off fellow challenger Ricky Peacock at the Alexandra Palace.
With Jason Chay pulling out of the contest injured, Haringey’s Windsor produced another polished display to be crowned champion.
The bout was close and after five rounds the decision was left to the judges who gave Windsor a majority points decision.
Windsor said: “This is just pure elation winning the title here at the Ally Pally in front of all my friends and family. I could not have wished for anything better.”
Windsor is likely to make the first defence of his title against Chay later this year.
