Tottenham Hotspur are interested in injured Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old left-sider suffered knee ligament damaged in the Saints' 4-1 defeat at Manchester City at the beginning of March, but had been a key figure up to that point.

Rodriguez, formerly of Burnley, had scored 15 Premier League goals in 30 top-flight starts for the south coast outfit earning his first England call-up against Chile last November.

Burnley-born Rodriguez will miss the start of next season, but Spurs are still understood to keen on signing the winger-cum-forward, who cost the Saints £6m when he joined them from the Clarets two summers ago.
