Spurs will look to sign wantaway Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

Bertrand, 24, spent the second half of last term on loan at Aston Villa, making 16 Premier League starts for the Villans.

The one-cap England international is keen to leave parent club Chelsea after eight years in pursuit of regular first-team football.

Southwark-born Bertrand has taken in loan spells with Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest previously but is now keen to put down roots more permanently.

Bertrand joined Chelsea from Gillingham in 2006 but has made just 21 top-flight start for the Blues in that period.
