Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing free agent Esteban Cambiasso following his release by Internazionale, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 33-year-old Argentine was released by the Italian giants at the end of last season after ten years and more than 300 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

A former Argentina international, the Buenos Aires-born playmaker lists Real Madrid and River Plate amongst his former employers.

Cambiasso's brother and agent, Federico, told Calcio News 24 there had been no contact from clubs in Italy for his brother's services.

“Fiorentina and Milan? There has never been any contact between us and either of those clubs,” Cambiasso said. “So I can categorically deny the rumours that are circling about Fiorentina and Milan.

“We have had some contact from abroad, mostly from Argentina, Spain and Turkey.

“The World Cup will give everyone more time to assess things and we will need to see what happens. At the moment, Esteban is enjoying his holidays.”
