Young Spurs midfielder Alex Pritchard has joined Brentford on loan for the season after extending his contract with Tottenham until 2016.

Pritchard, 21, spent last season on loan at League One side Swindon Town before making his Tottenham debut as a substitute against Aston Villa on the final day of the season.

The attacking midfielder had been linked with a loan move to newly-promoted Wolves earlier in the summer but has linked up with fellow Championship new-boys Brentford instead.

Included in a the deal is a break clause, which allows Pritchard to return to White Hart Lane in January should the two clubs decide it's in their best interest.

Speaking the Bees' website, boss Mark Warburton said: : “Alex is a player I have watched for many years.

“I have followed his career at Tottenham from a young age.

“He is very good tactically and technically with excellent dead ball delivery."

Pritchard made 44 appearances for Swindon last term, scoring eight goals.
