Tottenham Hotspur have been offered Sporting Lisbon right-back Miguel Lopes, according to the Daily Mail.

Lopes, 27, spent last season on loan at Lyon in Ligue 1 and made 19 appearances for the French outfit.

Born in Lisbon, the 6ft full-back only joined Sporting in January 2013 but has found himself out of the first-team picture in the Portuguese capital, making 14 league appearances after switching from rivals Porto.

A four-cap Portuguese international, Lopes began his professional career with Benfica in 2006 before taking in spells with Operario and Rio Ave.

Moving to the Estadio do Dragao in 2009, Lopes spent two seasons out on loan at Real Betis and Sporting Braga before joining Sporting Lisbon 19 months ago.

New Spurs head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, is understood to be in the market for a full-back, with Kyle Naughton in talks with Swansea City over a £5m switch.
