Nicola Adams cruised into the semi-finals of the flyweight division at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Haringey Police boxer was given a unanimous decision in the 48-51kg category quarter-final tie against Sri Lanka’s Erandi de Silva this afternoon.
Adams was in dominant form winning 3-0 on points to ensure at least a bronze medal.
She knocked down her opponent in the opening round of the win.
In her opening bout, Adams had few problems easing to a 3-0 victory over Nigeria’s Oluwatoyin Oladeji.
The Olympic gold medalist is competing in the competition which is the first time women’s boxing is taking place at the Commonwealth Games.
In the semi-finals, Adams will take on Canada’s Mandy Bujold on Friday.
