Spurs and Chelsea played out a tense 0-0 at White Hart Lane to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s men four points off the top.

The game rarely threatened to get going with Heung-Min Son having the home side's best chance in the first half.

Hugo Lloris produced a fine save to deny Eden Hazard with chances scant in the second half.

The result means Spurs have now gone 13 games unbeaten in the league, their longest in the Premier League era.

Spurs made one change to their team that beat West Ham 4-1 on Monday with Ryan Mason coming in for the suspended Dele Alli.

Danny Rose, Moussa Dembele and Kyle Walker all returned from the side that edged Qarabag 1-0 on Thursday night in Azerbaijan.

Chelsea have one once in their last nine matches at White Hart Lane, a 4-2 victory in November 2012.

It looked like that run would continue early on when Gary Cahill had to make a last ditch clearance after just two minutes.

But the visitors started to find their rhythm after 20 minutes and should have been in front.

Oscar producing a perfect cross to the head of Eden Hazard, who was playing as the false-nine in place of Diego Costa. However the Belgian could only head over the bar.

It looked like Son would nestle his header into the net as he found himself unmarked at the back post.

But his header was tame and straight at Begovic.

Dembele was next to test the Chelsea stopper with a low drive from 30 yards.

Last season Christian Eriksen tormented Nemanja Matic in arguably the game of the season as the lilywhites stunned champions Chelsea 5-3.

Chelsea were much tighter at the back compared to that match on New Year’s Day and limited Spurs to a couple of chances in the opening 45 minutes.

The contest became gritty in the second half, resembling the Klitschko v Fury fight of last night.

A neat one-two between Son and substitute Eric Lamela saw the first chance of the second half but Son could only fire straight at Begovic.

Chelsea then fired into life once more as Hazard’s sweetly struck volley was well saved by Hugo Lloris.

Neither side looked like they wanted to lose the match as the bout meandered into the last ten minutes.

There was to be no last minute dramatics as both sides seemed content with a draw.
