Former Spurs and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas has confirmed his retirement from professional football.
The 32-year-old, who last played for Queens Park Rangers against Nottingham Forest in April 2014, failed to fully recover from a knee injury suffered later that month in training.
Recently, Jenas has been working as a media pundit, including appearances on the BBC's Match Of The Day show.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme, Jenas said: "I have officially retired. I tried my best to come back from the knee injury, but unfortunately that is the end of my career."
Jenas made more than 400 club appearances, having started out as a trainee at Nottingham Forest before moving to Newcastle for £5 million in February 2002, then to Tottenham three years later.
Capped 21 times by England, Jenas also had a loan spell at Aston Villa, and briefly back with Forest in late 2012, before joining QPR in a permanent move in January 2013.
Current Hoops striker Charlie Austin paid tribute to his former teammate. He said on Twitter: "Was a pleasure playing with @jjenas8 even though it was just for one year he was a top player/top bloke and now smashing it as a pundit."
