Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was left ruing missed chances as his side blew the chance to go top of the table.

The home side turned the game on its head after falling a goal behind but let their bitter rivals back in late on to finish 2-2.

Speaking about the game, Pochettino said: Yes, its true it is a, missed opportunity. The way we played, I think we deserved more [from the game], it was a good game.”

Arsenal took the lead with ten minutes before half time from a subtle flick by Aaron Ramsey.

But Spurs took the upper hand when Francis Coquelin picked up a second yellow and Pochettino’s side took full advantage.

The Spurs boss said his side were “unlucky” in the way they conceded the first goal and was left disappointed by the second strike which drew the away side level.

However, the Spurs boss was upbeat about the remaining fixtures.

He said: “A lot of games and points ahead, we missed a big opportunity, Arsenal is a very good team, they always can create chances.

“For us it was a game that means a lot. The feeling is we missed a good opportunity.”

Eric Dier could have seen red for a cynical foul on Olivier Giroud but referee Michael Oliver kept his cards in his pocket.

Stand in goalkeeper for Arsenal David Ospina saved nine shots including two phenomenal saves first from Erik Lamela and then Chrisitan Eriksen.

Pochettino said Ospina was “one of the best on the pitch today”.

Spurs have faced a packed schedule since the turn of the year and face more games in the shape of Dortmund in the Europa League as well as nine Premier League games.

He said: “We come from a very busy period, all the season is busy, from the beginning.

“In the last few months we play a lot of games.

“Toby Alderweireld has played 44 games and this is unbelievable.”

Despite conceding late on, Pochettino refused to put letting the result slip down to his young squad.

He said: “It is not about maturity or character – I can show you a lot of examples of big clubs conceding in the last minute.

“All teams concede goals like this. For me today if you analyse the 90 minutes, one team was the best and that was Tottenham.”
