Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen netted a quick-fire hat-trick for Denmark, the first of his career, as they beat Bulgaria 4-0.

The 24-year-old netted three goals inside ten minutes for Denmark, who thrashed Bulgaria in their second match of the Kirin Cup in Japan.

Morten Rasmussen opened the scoring in the first half, before Eriksen grabbed his first in the 72nd minute, sweeping the ball home after Bulgaria goalkeeper Bozhidar Mitrev could only parry a shot from Viktor Fischer.

The Spurs winger netted his second minutes later, as he calmly slotted into the bottom corner after seizing on a loose ball.

Eriksen didn’t have to wait long to secure the first hat-trick of his career, as he scored his third and Denmark’s fourth, in the 82nd minute.

Fischer played in the 24-year-old, who broke behind the Bulgaria defence and poked the ball past the on rushing Mitrev.

Eriksen had been in excellent form for Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side last season, netting eight goals in 47 appearances, helping the North London side challenge for the Premier League title.
