Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino believes Harry Kane is already on his way to becoming a legend at the club.

The 23-year-old scored a hat-trick as Spurs hammered Stoke City 4-0 at White Hart Lane to move up to second in the Premier League.

The goals took Kane past 20 for the season for the third term in a row, with the first of the afternoon also his 100th strike in club football.

However, despite only breaking into the first team three years ago, Pochettino believes his number 10 may already be turning into a legend at the club.

The Spurs manager said: “I think Harry has the profile to be a legend here, if he has not already started to be a legend maybe with all the goals he is scoring.

“He has his own character, sometimes he argues with me, sometimes he is upset with me, sometimes he is happy we me, he has a strong character.

“But his personality is like this because he shows on the pitch behaviour and performance like he did today.”

“He is one of the best. I am very pleased for him, he is very professional he is a top man and he deserves it, I am very happy for him.

“But it is not new, it is not a surprise, because I say at many opportunities that for me he is one of the best strikers in the world.”

Kane grabbed a hat-trick in 23 first half minutes as Spurs put in a dominant performance against the Potters.

He then turned provider in injury time just before the break, squaring the ball for Dele Alli to tuck home after a powerful run.

The win moves Tottenham back above Manchester City into second place in the table, ten points behind leaders Chelsea.

Spurs will now turn their attention to Everton, who visit White Hart Lane next Sunday.
