Spurs target Leandro Damiao has dealt the north London club a blow by saying he wants to move to Europe - but to Real Madrid.

Daniel Levy has pursued the Brazilian hotshot for two years now and reportedly made two bids for his services in the summer.

Damiao became one of the hottest properties in the world though when he starred for Brazil at this summer's Olympics and seems now to be setting his sights higher than Tottenham.

The 23-year-old told UOL: "Now is not the moment to be thinking of playing in Europe. I just want to continue improving and scoring goals.

"However every footballer dreams of playing at a club such as Real Madrid but I'm only 23 and there is plenty of time to take that step forward.

"I have a contract and I love it here and don't feel the need to move away right now. Even so, it's obvious that the day will come when I'll leave Brazil and go to play in Europe."
