Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, according to the Metro.
The Dutch forward, who can also play out wide, joined the Portugese giants in 2011 and has shown some impressive form, scoring 29 goals in 53 appearances.
Villas-Boas is familiar with Van Wolfswinkel's talents after trying to sign the 23-year-old for Porto.
Spurs are light in the striking department with only Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor currently on the books with the latter set to depart for the African Cup of Nations tournament in January.
Van Wolfswinkel is currently in talks with Sporting over a new deal but Spurs are monitoring the situation and are ready to launch an £8m bid if talks stall.
