Tottenham Hotspur target Michy Batshuayi has signed a new contract with Marseille until 2020, ending any chance of Spurs signing the striker.

Batshuayi has scored 11 goals from just 18 Ligue 1 starts this season, attracting interest from Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, the 22-year-old Belgian will now remain at the Stade Velodrome for another four years after signing a long-term agreement with the French side.

Marseille boss Michel was adamant earlier this week the club wouldn't sell the striker.

He said: “You want to kill me! I don’t think about Michy leaving.

“If we’re going to sign anyone it will be an addition not a replacement.”
