Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid to sign striker Kevin Gameiro.

Gameiro signed for Atletico last season for £28million from Sevilla and has scored 16 goals in 42 games for the La Liga club.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, boss Diego Simeone is ready to let the Frenchman go after just one season with him.

They also claim that Atletico and Spurs are in advanced talks for a summer move for the 30-year-old.

It is reported that the fee will be around £26m and the transfer could be be confirmed and sorted within the next few days.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is known to be looking for a new forward in the transfer window, with the possibility of Dutchman Vincent Janssen leaving.

Janssen struggled this season scoring just twice for Spurs, while Harry Kane's 29-goal season earned him the Premier League golden boot.
