Lewis Holtby‘s agreed move to Spurs may be brought forward, after in-form midfielder Sandro picked up a long-term knee injury that could see him miss the remainder of the season.
Holtby had originally agreed a deal with Spurs for a move in the summer, when the 22-year-old’s contract runs out at Schalke.
However, it is thought that Spurs are considering an attempt to snap him up now with an offer of around £2-3m, a deal Schalke will be keen on to prevent the German playmaker from leaving on a free.
Sandro’s injury may also give more first-team opportunities for Tom Huddlestone, who looks set to stay despite interest from Fulham.
