Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is expected back at training either today or tomorrow with Andre Villas-Boas hopeful the Togolese will face Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Spurs head coach says the club are working out the best "flight connections" for Adebayor before he links up with the rest of the squad either today or tomorrow.
Adebayor came out of international retirement to help Togo reach the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations, where they were beaten by eventual finalist Burkina Faso last Sunday.
Jermain Defoe, the only other senior striker at the club, is currently sidelined with ankle ligament damage, which, despite not being serious, leaves Spurs short on numbers up front.
Defoe is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, meaning Adebayor’s return will be extremely welcome.
