Tim Sherwood was disappointed after Spurs had to settle for a point after drawing 1-1 at Hull City this afternoon.

The visitors found themselves trailing after 12 minutes when new signing Shane Long gave Steve Bruce’s side the lead. But Tottenham came more into the game and equalised on 61 minutes when Paulinho scored.

“We’re disappointed in the dressing room because we thought we’d come here and win the game,” the head coach told Spurs’ website.

“I said before the game that every team will have their needs and we can’t allow anyone else’s to be bigger than ours. We wanted maximum points and that’s what we tried to get.

“The first half was disappointing but I felt we could get back into the game.

“We did that in the latter part of the first half and in the second half, we got the ball in and around the box to (Emmanuel) Adebayor and (Roberto) Soldado. It fell for us once and I hoped it would fall for us a few more times, but it wasn’t to be.”
