Tottenham's interest in Villarreal defender Mateo Musaccio means Younes Kaboul looks set to leave White Hart Lane, with Lazio interested, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Spurs have opened talks with Italian club Lazio to discuss a deal for the 28-year-old, who missed much of the 2012/13 campaign due to a knee problem.
However Lazio are refusing to pay Spurs’ initial asking price of £6m, and have instead offered only £4.8m.
It is understood the Serie A outfit are happy to wait until the end of the transfer window to seal a deal for the former Portsmouth defender.
The French international, who has a year left on his current contract at White Hart Lane, only made 20 appearances last term as a result of his injury issues.
Any move will come after new Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino signed central defender Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon for £4m.
