Haringey Borough will look to build on the success of last season’s FA Cup run and continue their unbeaten start to the new season when they face Hertford Town on Saturday.

Tom Loizou’s side have begun their 2014/15 Essex Senior League campaign with back-to-back wins, beating London Bari 2-1 on Tuesday night to equal the league’s longest winning run (17 matches), three days after thrashing Clapton 5-0 in their season opener.

Strikes from Dean Fenton, Darrell Cox, Daniel Aristidou and Anthony McDonald (2) sealed victory over Clapton before veteran Cox netted against against Bari.

Borough will take on Hertford Town in the FA Cup extra preliminary round this Saturday; as they look to replicate a run which saw them knocked out by Ryman Premier League champions Wealdstone last season.

The Stones, who have since been promoted to the Conference South, knocked Borough out 4-1 in the second qualifying round.

Borough had reached that stage by earlier beating Wembley, AFC Hayes and Rushden & Higham United before eventually succumbing to Gordon Bartlett’s side.

The magnitude of last season’s FA Cup run was felt off the field as well as on it, with the revenue generated allowing the club to replace three of their floodlights at Coles Park.

Isaac Marfo and Temis Christou both miss out as they await international clearance, whilst Joe O’Cearuill is getting married.
