HIGHAMS Park-based boxer Jake Childs scored an excellent victory in the quarter finals of the junior ABA's at York Hall on Friday.
The 16-year-old, who fights for Tottenham and Enfield ABC, found himself up against the durable Cieron Nelson from the Sefton Club in their U70kg bout.
Childs boxed brilliantly to secure a unanimous decision to book his place in the semi-finals of the competition in Liverpool this weekend.
He said: "It was a very difficult quarter final for me against a difficult opponent and I'm sure it will be the same again this weekend in Liverpool."
